EP: 1 bronasta EC: 1 bronze

Stanko Topoličnik dedicated his life to judo. His biggest achievement came at the European Championships in Ostende in 1969, when he won a bronze medal in the 63kg category. He was an 11-time Yugoslav champion in the 1960s and 1970s and a role model for many of Slovenia’s best judokas. Along with the bronze at the European Championships, Topoličnik won medals at numerous domestic and international events and became the first Slovenian judoka to appear at Olympics, when he was part of the Yugoslav team in Munich in 1972. While still competing at elite events, he took charge of the Impol club from Slovenska Bistrica, guiding it to 3rd place in the European Cup in 1984. He went on to become a judge in judo and was a recipient of several honours, including the Bloudek Distinction.
