»Kralj konja z ročaji«, »zlati konjenik« in »bog konja« so bili njegovi najbolj laskavi vzdevki, čeprav je bil zelo univerzalen telovadec.

With 30 medals at major championships, Miroslav Cerar is considered Slovenia’s most successful athlete of all time. “The King of the Pommel Horse” was just one of the many nicknames given to one of the most dominant gymnasts of his generation, who was accomplished on all apparatus. He won the overall event at the European Championships twice in a row. He appeared at three Olympic Games: in Rome in 1960, Tokyo in 1964 (1st on pommel horse, 3rd on high bar) and Ciudad de Mexico in 1968 (1st on pommel horse). He was also a four-time World Champion, including at the 1970 competition in Ljubljana, and a 10-time European Champion. A law graduate and successful lawyer, Cerar has remained involved in sports and is one of the founders of the Slovenian Olympic Committee.
